I first came to serve as the RUF campus minister at Covenant College in the fall of 2015. I am a graduate of James Madison University (BBA) and Reformed Theological Seminary’s Orlando campus (MDiv). I’ve also done some studying in the certificate program with the Christian Counseling & Education Foundation (CCEF).
Jennifer and I met as students at JMU and married the year after our graduations; beginning our life together while serving on the staff of a campus ministry, eventually heading off to seminary. Prior to coming to Covenant, in addition to having served in campus ministry in Virginia, I’ve been an assistant pastor in a PCA church in Tennessee, and most recently, was on the staff of Harvest USA in Chattanooga.
Jennifer and I are delighted to return once again to ministry in the university setting. Our own college years were deeply, spiritually enriching. We greatly enjoy the fun and opportunities of the campus environment.
It amuses me when people mention that they like good coffee or good food in their profiles (who likes bad coffee or bad food?!). My degree from JMU is in Computer Information Systems, and I’ve worked as a professional computer geek in a few different settings. I am an avid NBA fan; especially the Orlando Magic. Some of my other interests are reading, following political news, and camping (though I may be slightly more interested in camping gear than actual camping). I enjoy live musical performances. The time, equipment, and skill, to pursue woodworking is a some-day dream of mine. I support the Oxford comma.
One of the things I find most energizing and satisfying is having conversations that delve into the stuff that really matters in life. Get in touch. I’d love to listen and dialogue.
Scott and Jennifer have lived in the Chattanooga area, with their children, Karisa and Harrison, since 2005.
